Meet The Team

Paul & Sarah Schmidt

Paul was raised in northeast Connecticut, spending a few years working in Patterson, NY. He has lived in Arizona for over 30 years, first as a Sales Engineer for a machine tool distributorship. He moved into the insurance industry in 2009 as a captive agent of Liberty Mutual before establishing his independent agency, ACC Insurance.

Sarah moved to Arizona in 1994 and has worked in banking, accounts receivable and payable, and as an office manager. Most recently she has worked in sales and marketing prior to achieving her insurance certification. Her organizational skills and follow-through will ensure all client needs are met with care, concern and efficiency.

Paul and Sarah are both fluent in American Sign Language.

Leah Engler

Leah and her husband moved to Arizona in 2014 from Pennsylvania. She had been involved with the insurance industry in PA and has now established her license here in Arizona. Her experience as a dental hygienist for 16 years has enabled her to be discerning and compassionate to the needs of those around her.

She has participated in a variety of volunteer programs and enjoys helping those in her local community. Since 2002 she has also owned and managed an online business which has sharpened her skills working with customers to achieve top-rated satisfaction. This expertise coupled with professional communication, quick response time and diplomacy enhance her abilities to service her clients’ needs regarding their personal insurance.

Toshia Palermo

With over 15 years’ experience in the insurance industry, Toshia has the skill set, background and credentials to advise her clients on plans for their personal situation. Her commitment to building positive relationships with her clients is the cornerstone of her beliefs. She is dedicated to ongoing education resulting in a high level of expertise. She is currently licensed in property and casualty insurance, life insurance and health insurance. She has completed the AHIP certification. In December 2021, she earned the CIC designation from the National Alliance.

Outside of work, she spends time volunteering in the community. She has a passion for great wine, good friends, family and travel. volunteering in education and spending time with her family.

Gregg Schmidt

After years of volunteering globally in the education of developing communities, Gregg became a licensed insurance agent in 2012 and joined ACC in 2016. His passion for working with people and his love for education are evident in his consultative approach.
In 2019, Gregg partnered with his sister, Liz Dexter, to provide an innovative approach to client care. By working together, they have doubled their availability for policy and claims strategy, ensuring they are there when their clients need them most.

In his free time, Gregg continues to give back to the community. Leveraging his insurance expertise, he volunteers in managing risks and supporting relief efforts during natural disasters.

Liz Dexter

Liz developed an interest in insurance as a way to help people. Conversations with neighbors and friends highlighted the challenges and costs associated with protecting against risks in certain areas. In 2015, she joined ACC as a licensed insurance agent, focusing on clients in flood and wildfire zones. She obtained her certification through FEMA and has enjoyed helping hundreds of people over the years.

Since 2019, Liz has partnered with her brother, Gregg Schmidt. By combining their experience, they bring an even greater value to their clients through tailored guidance & solutions.

Outside of her insurance work, Liz enjoys volunteering in education and spending time with her family.
